On September 6, 1990, John Lips and Jos Onstenk (father and mother of Edwin Lips) founded Belgarden. Belgarden is then a letterbox BVBA in Hasselt. The intention at the time was to also have a sales point in Belgium for Eurogarden. John Lips had several companies including Eurogarden. But to enter the Belgian market he founded Belgarden.
Name change from Belgarden to Garden Trade International.
The name change was made necessary by a competitor who preferred not to have us on the Belgian market.
GTI shares of (Garden Trade International) are transferred to sons Edwin and Rogier Lips.
Edwin Lips joins the business.
New hall at the Deense Wijersstraat 6 in Bilzen. Size of the new hall: 1600 m2.
Edwin Lips takes over the business management from John Lips.
