15/08/1990 - Belgarden

On September 6, 1990, John Lips and Jos Onstenk (father and mother of Edwin Lips) founded Belgarden. Belgarden is then a letterbox BVBA in Hasselt. The intention at the time was to also have a sales point in Belgium for Eurogarden. John Lips had several companies including Eurogarden. But to enter the Belgian market he founded Belgarden.

21/04/1992 - Garden Trade International

Name change from Belgarden to Garden Trade International.
The name change was made necessary by a competitor who preferred not to have us on the Belgian market.

1993 - Share transfer

GTI shares of (Garden Trade International) are transferred to sons Edwin and Rogier Lips.

15/08/1995 - Edwin Lips

Edwin Lips joins the business.

05/11/1997 - New hall

New hall at the Deense Wijersstraat 6 in Bilzen. Size of the new hall: 1600 m2.

21/01/1998 - Edwin Lips manager

Edwin Lips takes over the business management from John Lips.

1998 - Giardino

First designs of the Giardino logo. We then rolled out this logo on the market.

1999 - Automation

Euro changeover.

Automation to Brilliant.

Rogier Lips joins the business.

13/06/2003 - Expansion

Expansion at Deense Wijersstraat 6 with an additional hall of 900 m2.

01/08/2004 - New office

New office building (320 m2) at Deense Wijersstraat 6 in Bilzen. Between 1997 and 2004 there were first office containers.

30/09/2004 - Rogier leaves Giardino

Rogier Lips leaves the business and Edwin Lips takes over the shares.

04/11/2005 - Expansion

Expansion (4094 m2) of the hall at Deense Wijersstraat 12.

14/05/2009 - Solar panels

Installation of the solar panels at Deense Wijersstraat 6 with building rights.

20/10/2010 - Expansion

Expansion of the hall (3527 m2) at Deense Wijersstraat 14.

01/12/2010 - Automation

Together with Tracing in motion we took the step towards warehouse automation.

2011 - MOVO

Installation of mobile pallet racks (MOVO). This is a dynamic warehouse solution that doubles the storage capacity on the same floor space compared to standard pallet racking.

13/09/2012 - GS1

Registration with GS1.

As an independent neutral not-for-profit organization, GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg brings together organizations such as supermarkets and drugstores, hardware stores, hospitals, their suppliers and logistics service providers. By offering companies global standards for identification, as well as for recording and sharing data, GS1 Belgilux is committed to a more efficient chain.

18/10/2012 - John Lips retired

John Lips is retiring.

27/08/2015 - Consulips

Establishment of Consulips as a holding company above Garden Trade International. 

14/06/2016 - Energy efficient

LED lighting installed on the Deense Wijersstraat 6 and 12.

Hall 14 was already equipped with energy-efficient lighting.

09/02/2017 - Solar panels

Installed solar panels on Deense Wijersstraat 14.

24/05/2018 - Conversation with the municipality

Initial discussions with the municipality about the purchase of the new land.

First design drawings for the new construction at Twaalfbunderweg 13.

18/01/2019 - Immolips

Establishment of Immolips next to Garden Trade International under the holding company Consulips.

18/03/2019
Partial demerger of Garden Trade International whereby real estate is transferred to Immolips.

12/05/2020 - Agreement to purchase building land

Municipal agreement for the purchase of the 4.5 hectares of land for our new construction at Twaalfbunderweg 13.

04/08/2020
Axor first approved the quotation for the new construction.

Official purchase of the land from the municipality.

24/06/2021 - Favorable construction advice

Favorable advice on new construction plans from the municipality.

Received approved building permit from the municipality.

Final order confirmation for new Axor construction.
